Do you wish to practice outside Nigeria (United Kingdom)



This is quite an exciting and interesting topic. Some nurses love to practice in their country. Which I commend and applaud. Others may want to practice outside Nigeria. 
Where do you stand???
You can potentially practice nursing in our beloved country, USA, UK, Canada and Australia.

Basically you need to register as a nurse in any country that you are going to practice.

For UK Nursing registration:
  • IELTS academic
  • CBT-competency based test
  • Document verification
  • OSCE-this is done when you are in UK.

I always tell people you do not need an agency to help you move and practice in UK. You can do it yourself. I am happy to guide you and even connect you with employers. Note you should not also pay any agency. Big waste of money.

only 3 years diploma in nursing in Nigeria, what's is your advice for them?

In UK we aim to get 7.0 across all sections of the IELTS. That is the reading, writing, listening and the speaking.
Those with 3 years nursing can still apply to the NMC UK because they have the basic requirement.

Corona virus does not seem to be disappearing anytime soon. Countries are trying to adjust their system to reduce the spread and also promote easing lock down. In other words, 'adjusting life to accommodate covid-19 in the society,' till it is eradicated.  Nigeria has unique characteristics, therefore the methodology adopted to stop the spread should be tailored to the needs of Nigerians.  The general message still remains, stay at home; keep 2 meters apart; wash/sanitize your hands and build your immunity. Is mental health a public health issue? According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), public health seeks to promote health; prolong life and prevent diseases. It helps individuals, organisations and even communities to address issues of preventable disease, mortality and disability.  While mental health, helps to improve the general well-being of an individual, their quality of life, it is protective against acute and chronic physical illnesses.
