Free health screening, Enugu State.






This free health screening is being organized by Akachukwu and maternity conglomerate of Divine maternity services, Ugwuaji, Enugu State. To help meet the health needs of those living in that community. It seeks to serve people in the communities. 
Some of the free services include free blood pressure; blood sugar checks; appropriate referrals; health teaching and general health screening. Please view the leaflet, for more details.

Ugomma is a nurse licensed in Nigeria, United Kingdom and the USA. She specialized in operating room nursing, particularly Orthopaedics. She has over 9 years experience in theatre nursing. Qualifications: RN, RM, RPON, BSC in Nursing and MSc in Health economics and health policy. She has worked in one of the outstanding trauma/ reconstruction and orthopaedic hospitals in Nigeria. And also in one of the prestigious hospitals in the United Kingdom.

Corona virus does not seem to be disappearing anytime soon. Countries are trying to adjust their system to reduce the spread and also promote easing lock down. In other words, 'adjusting life to accommodate covid-19 in the society,' till it is eradicated.  Nigeria has unique characteristics, therefore the methodology adopted to stop the spread should be tailored to the needs of Nigerians.  The general message still remains, stay at home; keep 2 meters apart; wash/sanitize your hands and build your immunity. Worship centers in Nigeria: Nigeria has large population, making it very difficult for people to stay 2 meters apart in worship centers. So what can we do? Stay at home. When the lock down has been eased, continue to stay at home and worship in your house. Is mental health a public health issue? According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), public health seeks to promote health; prolong life and prevent diseases. It helps individuals, organisations and even communities to address issues of preventable disease, mortality and disability.  While mental health, helps to improve the general well-being of an individual, their quality of life, it is protective against acute and chronic physical illnesses. Mental health goes beyond an absence of mental illness. It includes, promotion of mental health and general well being. Thereby, tackling preventable diseases, morbidity and mortality. This shows that mental health is a public health issue.
